六西格玛管理方法由于其实实在在的效果，给企业带来的巨大收益。由于目前企业对改善的迫切需求，ISO组织已经将六西格玛管理方法吸收并转化为六西格玛相关标准：ISO13053，并于2011年9月1日，正式发布。
ISO13053共包括两个部分：
——ISO13053-1(过程改进的定量方法——六西格玛——第一部分：DMAIC方法论)；
——ISO13053-2(过程改进的定量方法——六西格玛——第二部分：工具和技术)。

ISO13053-1:2011 describes a methodology for the business improvement methodology known as six sigma. the methodology typically comprises five phases: define, measure, analyse, improve and control (dmaic).iso 13053-1:2011 recommends the preferred or best practice for each of the phases of the dmaic methodology used during the execution of a six sigma project. it also recommends how six sigma projects should be managed and describes the roles, expertise and training of the personnel involved in such projects. it is applicable to organizations using manufacturing processes as well as service and transactional processes.
